Bharat National Cyber Security Exercise 2023 :
Elevating India’s Cybersecurity Preparedness to New Heights

In a defining moment for India’s cybersecurity journey, the Bharat National Cyber Security Exercise (NCX) 2023 took place from October 9th to 20th at the prestigious SCOPE Convention Centre in New Delhi. This event marked an important chapter in India’s strategic efforts to fortify its digital landscape against the rising tide of cyber threats. With over 300 participants from a spectrum of government bodies, public organizations, and private enterprises, NCX 2023 set the stage for collaboration, innovation, and strengthened cybersecurity across critical sectors.
Organized by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) in partnership with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), the exercise was a convergence of high-level policy discussions and hands-on cyber simulations, crafted to elevate India’s preparedness in the face of dynamic cyber challenges. The event seamlessly blended strategic foresight with practical application, empowering participants to engage with contemporary threats and build actionable responses.
Lt Gen. M U Nair, National Cyber Security Coordinator, provided an insightful strategic overview of India’s cybersecurity ecosystem, highlighting the increasing sophistication of cyber threats and the necessity for unified vigilance. In his closing address, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, emphasized the critical importance of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) protection and the rising significance of Post Quantum Cryptography. His words underscored the need for continual learning and adaptation in the face of an ever-evolving digital frontier, leaving participants inspired and ready to lead India’s cybersecurity charge.
